National Ride to Work Day
GSK Australia actively participates in the annual, national Ride to Work Day, an event that encourages people to combat two of society’s most pressing issues - climate change and health. As a key stakeholder in the health industry, and a company that acknowledges the impacts of climate change, GSKA encourages all staff to partake in this event, which is not only good for their health, but also the environment.
In 2007 approximately 40 GSKA employees chose to leave their cars at home and Ride to Work, displaying that climate change is being taken more seriously across our business. In 2008 another 50 GSKA staff members tool part in the event, indicating that awareness of 'green' issues is growing within the organisation.
This year GSKA will again, actively promote the national Ride to Work Day and aim to increase the number of participants.
Ride to Work Day is another example of GSKA encouraging environmental health on both an individual and collaborative level, and taking responsibility for our impact on climate change.
