As Western Australia’s peak diabetes group, delivering guidance and reassurance is one of their key roles. They provide a number of life-changing services that provide patients with accurate information, crucial support and practical advice to help them effectively manage their diabetes and continue to lead an active and healthy life.

In 2007: GSK donated $1,000 to sponsor the Diabetes Ride Across Oz. Andele Gray and Avril Fahey rode across Australia to raise awareness.

The Diabetes Ride aimed to:

• Promote of the key message that ‘diabetes is too serious to ignore’ ,
• Demonstrate that people with diabetes can do anything they put their minds to through positive role modelling,
• Promote healthy lifestyles through physical activity, and
• Assist people living in rural and remote areas to establish positive message about diabetes.
