Mental Health Council of Australia
The Mental Health Council of Australia (MHCA) is the peak, national non-government organisation representing and promoting the interests of the Australian mental health sector, committed to achieving better mental health for all Australians.
In 2007: Total $25,000 was given as part of a pharmaceutical collaboration involving 5 other companies and the Mental Health Council of Australia. The collaboration operates in accordance with the Working Together principles and under an MOU agreed annually.
In 2007, the key deliverables from the MOU included:
- Activities in relation to World Mental Health Day (10 October)
- Preparation and dissemination of “Let’s Get to Work - A National Mental Health Employment Strategy for Australia”
- Conduct of a national survey of community pharmacy attitudes toward mental illness (results due for publication mid 2008)
- Review of national mental health legislation
