Thoracic Society of Australia

The TSANZ is the professional society of thoracic physicians, scientists and other health care workers involved in lung disease.

Its aims are to prevent and cure respiratory disease and relieve disability in those with lung disease.

In 2007: GSK sponsored two Respiratory Research Fellowships to a total cost of $267,000.

TSANZ / Allen & Hanburys Paediatric Respiratory Medicine Career Development Grant-in-Aid

The Allen & Hanburys Grant-in-Aid is to foster the development of paediatric respiratory medicine and is valued at Aus $40,000 per annum for two consecutive years. The Grant-in-Aid allows young paediatric advanced trainees to undertake a two year development programme to enter into the practice of paediatric respiratory medicine or apply for post-training research fellowships that would lead to an academic career.


TSANZ/Allen & Hanburys Respiratory Research Fellowship

The Allen & Hanburys Respiratory Research Fellowship aims to foster the development of research in respiratory medicine in Australia and New Zealand. The Fellowship is valued at Aus $70,000 per annum for two consecutive years and allows researchers to undertake a two year research program under the supervision of an established expert in the field of respiratory medicine.
