2010 GSK Ethnic Research Initiative (ERI)

Call for RESEARCH GRANT APPLICATIONS

The GSK Oncology International Ethnic Research Initiative (GSK ERI) is a Research Grant programme designed to support independent non-clinical research focused on improving the understanding of breast cancer in ethnically diverse populations.


A number of research grants of between US$100,000 and US$250,000 will be awarded by independent review committee.


Interested researchers should submit a Letter of Intent (LOI) for the 2010 GSK ERI grant on the template provided to the GSK ERI Project Manager c/o gsk.eri@innovara.com

Timelines for the 2010 GSK ERI Grant



LOI submission deadline - April 30, 2010
An LOI (Letter Of Intent) must be submitted prior to the deadline. Within 2 weeks of LOI receipt, the applicant will receive notification of LOI suitability and if LOI is considered suitable, applicant will be sent Application and Budget Forms.


Application submission deadline (for suitable LOIs) - July 15, 2010
Applicant may submit the formal Application at any time, but the application must be submitted by no later than July 15.


Application re-submission deadline (for incomplete Applications) - August 31, 2010
If submitted applications are found to be incomplete, they may be rejected or applicants will be requested to make modification for resubmission. All final resubmissions must be received by no later than August 31. The complete applications are then reviewed by an International Steering Committee (ISC) to select the finalists to advance to the final independent panel review by Co-chairs of the Expert Steering Committee(ESC).


Awardees informed - October 31, 2010
Applicants are formally informed of the decisions of the ESC review panel and of GSK ERI as to which applicants will be awarded grants.


Awardees announcement - December 8, 2010
Awardees are formally announced at the San Antonio Breast Cancer Symposium (SABCS). Grant Awardees will be invited to join SABCS to formally receive their awards.
